Okay, now it's time for Gatchaman fans to crap themselves in a frenzy. Gatchaman fanart is about as rare as Harry Potter fanfics without angst. (BTW, if anyone asks "What is Gatchaman?" or Battle of the Planets or G-Force, I'm gonna shove five gigs of Google up your butt.)
This is exactly how I feel whenever I visit a Comic Con myself, I'm all "WEEEEEE I'M HERE!" until I realize I nowhere near have enough money to buy all the stuff I want. Then htere's kind of a downward slope.
I'm kinda like that, but it's more about my romp through the small presses booths and realizing that the majority of people there are either crap peddlers or self-congratulatory artists so blind to their talentless predisposition that it makes me wonder if leaving three hours before closing would enable me to dodge traffic.
Oh. And the creators of Totally Spies. Seeing the guys who actually made that rubbish threw me in a downward spiral of self-guilt, where at first I felt awful about wanting to kill them on the spot. Then, walking away, feeling even worse that I didn't. And upon return, seeing that after originally leaving, security was redirected in force when somebody else actually DID try right after I left...AND I FREAKING MISSED IT!
Meh, I went last year. Don't feel like going this year. I was actually at a small press booth with another guy I worked on a comic with, and it was kind of humiliating that even though I colored the entirety of his comic, he didn't give me any credit. That, and he brought the family of everybody else who slightly contributed to the comic.
"Hi there, yes, I am the guy who did the pencils and conceived of this comic. Oh, but yeah, let's get some signatures on this thing from the team. First off, our writer, who also brought his mom and his fiance. Then, ah, our inker, whose two cousins are here as well, yeah, let them sign it, too."
"Wow, the color on this is really beautiful!"
"Oh, of course, well, our other inker thought so, too, yep, two inkers. She didn't get on until much later, but yeah, her brother came along too, how about both of you put a signature on that."
"Damn, this background, you're really good at them."
"Nah, those were just thrown in as an after thought during the color process, but our TERTIARY WRITER took a bunch of images from 2005 Comicon which acted as reference for those, he's getting nachos right now with his grandma and his rabbi, but if you stick around for a while, he can swing by to sign it as well."
"Neat."
"Yep, hmm, anybody else? Anybody? Nope, well you should be all set. Oh, Dave, where are you-hey, hey, where are you going? Hey while you're up, can my aunt use your chair, her feet are killing her after chasing her two nephews."
Color artists get no respect.
Well, not really. Just on that project. It WAS pretty ridiculous though, and no joke, I felt very thoroughly ignored by our project lead, even though he and I spent the most amount of time together on it. Plus, I put in about as many hours of work into it, and went into my Christmas fund to originally finance the initial publication.
Wow, you get an award for "BEST ART REPLY OF THE YEAR."
And you’re absolutely right, colour artists get no respect. Maybe I should make a comic commenting on that fact, have you colour it, and then not give you any credit, HAH!

A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
